Living with Inspirations!

When Inspirations Senior Living had their open house, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to stop by and see what it was like. Back in 2013, Pahrump Life had done a story about it, so it was the perfect time to do a review and see if anything had changed.

There was a lot of activity as I drove up to Inspirations. There were a number of people outside being served hot dogs and various other food items by the staff. After I parked the car, I wandered over and immediately was offered something to eat and a tour.

Janessa Becker, Executive Director and Arleen Koontz, Sales Director were personally doing the tours. I ended up going with Arleen and another couple. It ended up being a great experience, as the lady was in a wheelchair and he was pushing her around. It gave me the perspective of seeing just how handicap-friendly Inspirations would be.

As we began the tour, we went by a living room where a gentleman was playing the piano in front of a number of residents and guests. Apparently, this is a normal thing for the Community.

The private rooms are very cozy and range from 336 sq. ft to 508 sq. ft and include a kitchenette, spacious private bathroom, and individual climate control. The rooms are unfurnished, so you can bring your own furniture and decorate as you wish. They also have weekly housekeeping and linen laundry service.

The dining room is incredible and the Food Service Department has a kitchen that rivals any hotel. The chef has daily specials, or you can order Anytime Menu items. Nutrition is an important part of meal planning and preparations at Inspirations. Individual dietary needs often can be met by the chef as well.

If you happen to be one of those individuals that need a midnight, or even a daytime snack, they have a bistro open for your convenience. They have an Activities Director that coordinates a wide range of activities such as dancing, music, morning strolls, crafts, other activities, and local transportation. They even have a state-of-the-art exercise room, game room to play poker, chess or other games, and a library with a variety of books and a computer for the residents. Other amenities include a beauty salon and the Country Store where residents can purchase sundry items. A variety of music and entertainment is brought in for guest enjoyment, and movies are shown on a big screen in the theater. Yes, popcorn is available. One of the best features of Inspirations is the fact that you will be safe and secure, as there is 24-hour staff and every day the residents are paid a visit by the staff to ensure wellness. Should there be an emergency, every resident has a call button.

This ensures that the Community is sanitized and purified, greatly reducing contaminants like mold, bacteria and viruses in the air and on surfaces.

Although we did not tour the Memory Care part, called Oasis, they offer care for those living with conditions such as dementia and Alzheimer’s.

At the end of our tour, it was plain to see the couple had no problems with any of the rooms, and quite honestly, I have to say it was a wonderful experience knowing that Pahrump has one of the best Communities for senior care I have ever seen. If you have not taken the opportunity to view Inspirations, schedule an appointment by calling Arleen at 775-751-2300. “One of the best features of Inspirations is the fact that you will be safe and secure, as there is 24- hour staff and every day the residents are paid a visit by the staff to ensure wellness.”
