Recipe Box – One-Pot Dinner

This dish makes a big hit, especially with men. It’s an excellent dish to have with a garden side salad. Ron and I like it over egg noodles. This makes a large amount. Leftovers can be frozen. When ready to use, thaw in the refrigerator, then heat in a pan or in the oven.

1 pound ground beef
¾ pound bacon, cut in small pieces
1 cup chopped onion
2 cans Van Camp’s Pork and Beans
1 can kidney beans, drained
1 can butter lima beans, drained
1 cup ketchup ¼ cup brown sugar
1 Tbs liquid smoke 3 Tbs white vinegar
1 tsp. salt
Dash pepper

Directions Brown ground beef in skillet; drain off fat and put beef in Crockpot. Brown bacon and onions; drain off fat. Add bacon, onions and remaining ingredients to Crockpot. Stir together well. Cover and cook on Low 4 to 6 hours. If you do not have a Crockpot, put in a 200-degree oven for the same amount of time.
